Wounds need care and attention.  They can easily become infected and can cause much bigger issues than the cause of the wound itself.  Wounds come in all shapes and forms – dog bites, grazes, burns, cuts and surgical wounds.  There are also chronic wounds caused by preexisting conditions or illnesses that need regular, professional care.

Post Surgical Wounds

In -hospital recovery after surgery has become much shorter over the years.  This has brought about the necessity for externally sourced specialised post-surgical wound care.  At M-KEM’s wound care clinics our nursing staff frequently treat post-surgical wounds successfully and are fully equipped to clean, dress and treat healing wounds.  In addition to this, specialised wound care products are right on hand in the surgical department where the wound care clinics are located.

Chronic Wounds

A skin wound that doesn’t heal, heals slowly or heals but tends to recur is known as a chronic wound. Some of the many causes of chronic (ongoing) skin wounds can include trauma, burns, skin cancers, infection or underlying medical conditions such as diabetes. Wounds that take a long time to heal need special care.  Our specially trained Wound Care nursing staff are qualified to treat and dress chronic wounds in our sterile wound care clinics.  Please note that chronic wound treatment requires an appointment with the clinics.
