VITAMIN C

Vitamin C, also known as Ascorbic Acid, is a water-soluble nutrient found in some foods. In the body it acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals. If we can convert Vitamin C from a water soluble to a superior FAT soluble form it would result in the vitamin being absorbed more slowly into the body but over a longer period of time.

How can we make it both water and fat soluble?

Blend one teaspoon of lecithin granules with two teaspoons of Vitamin C powder, and a small amount of water.  The lecithin coats the vitamin C making it both water and fat soluble and hence increases its absorption.

SUFFERING WITH A BAD HANGOVER?

Alcohol intake depletes the amount of the water soluble vitamins (B and C) in your body.   Excessive alcohol consumption makes you urinate more frequently, resulting in dehydration as well as loss of these precious vitamins. The hangover that results is likely to cause bad headaches, loss of appetite, general tiredness and so on.

A formula for recovery is:

  1. – A good multivitamin high in Vitamin C and the B vitamins
  2. – Rehydration fluids
  3. – A good liver support supplement
  4. – Rest

DID YOU KNOW THAT GLUTEN INTOLERANE CAN CAUSE PERMANENT INTESTINE DAMAGE?

The villi found in the small intestine are responsible for the absorption of nutrients from the gut. In gluten intolerant individuals, gluten can cause the immune system to destroy the villi. This results not only in inflammation, but can also lead to malnutrition due to the lack of absorption of vital food from the intestine. Once your health care specialist has diagnosed you with gluten intolerance it is important to eat the correct food.

At M-KEM we have gluten free range that can be useful for you.
